In order to get raw milk in Colorado, Colorado law requires you to buy into a herd of dairy animals. WiMo Farms offers a herd share buy-in. So regardless of if you have a half share, a full share or six shares, everyone is an equal shareholder. Our herd share buy-in is $40. We also have a $10 jar fee at startup and then as needed - never more than yearly.
The other part of any raw milk program in Colorado is the monthly boarding fee. That is the fee you pay each month to board the cows at WiMo Farms. Your boarding fee will be dependent on the amount of milk you get each month. Our monthly boarding cost as of January of 2024 is $40 per half share. We offer any multiple of half shares. A half share is equal to a half gallon of milk each week.
Send an e-mail to wimofarms@gmail.com, or call or text us at
(970) 344-0808 and Mo will get back to you as soon as possible.
If you'd like to ask us anything, please call us at the farm and we would be happy to talk to you about our program and answer any questions you might have outside of what you find here on our website.
In November of 2019 after a bull attack requiring hospitalization, we sold the bulk of our dairy and went through a drastic downsizing. We did however, keep some cows for us and our friends. In 2022 we kept a couple more cows, but have no plans to grow to a large raw dairy again - therefore, our only pickup location is, as of Jan '24, at our farm.
Our farm is located south and west of Berthoud - a little off the beaten path, but in a beautiful location in a quiet river valley along the Little Thompson River. Shareholders enjoy the sometimes unusual sights when picking up at the farm.
Milk pickup is available Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
We currently have no plans to add drop locations as of writing in January 2024. I have seen shareholders do "pickup sharing" - if you have a few families near you that are interested in getting milk, you may want to talk to them about creating a pickup schedule - we've seen that work well for shareholders in the past.
